About the Illustrator
Gabrielle McCaffrey Shamsey lives in Pennington, NJ with her husband and two sons. She studied figure drawing for three years in a classical atelier program, learning the fundamentals of art realism. She incorporates those skills into her illustrations, specifically regarding composition and character expressions. Gabrielle is greatly inspired by the artwork of Maurice Sendak and Ray Cruz.
